The log file shows the newer version of xcolor. Also, the test for xcolor2.tex fails the same way - ! Undefined control sequence. <recently read> \c@lor@to@ps The other two tests xcolor1.tex and xcolor3.tex succeed. xcolor2.tex is the only one that uses pstricks. I have, however, found that I can run prosper from a unix window bypassing TexShop. I also found a message from a few years ago that says that TexShop does not work with prosper although I thought that I ran across a more recent message saying that the newer version of TexShop had fixed that problem. I would prefer to use TexShop (if anyone out there knows how to fix the problem that I am having) but can live with running it at the Unix level on my machine. Merci Mathieu.
