Hello,

You are receiving this email because of one or more past inquiries to CICKU mirror team regarding CTAN module at *.mirrors.cicku.me/ctan, which is a global load balancer supporting CTAN project with ~6TB daily egress traffic as of 2025.

This is a notification that the mirror backend is currently undergoing substantial changes for European visitors. The ultimate goal is to eliminate integrity and freshness issues which occasionally prevent users downloading the original file without retry or idling. Earlier this year, we identified and addressed an HTTP/2 issue which has since then improved the reliability.

While we do not expect significant issues this time, connectivity issues or bugs may still be challenging. Please note that the changeset is scheduled to go through several stages - avoiding major interruption to the global traffic to the best extent:

1. Cache key reconfiguration (risky)
2. Foundational testing for TexLive distribution (risky)
3. Package management repository testing for RPM/APT (normal)
4. MacTex testing (normal)
5. Edge performance tuning (risky)

As of today, the stage 1 is 80% complete and 2/3/4 are still in queue. We would like to request your feedback or arbitrary testing, to help us build a better mirror to all users.

Yours,
Christopher
on behalf of CICKU mirror team
