Some people think that the most rapidly software is the best but for
me it is opposite, rapidly changing software is for me unstable and
the same document will not compile a few years later. I keep old
versions of TL for exactly that purpose, but if my document has to be
compiled by another persou who does not store 10+ versions of TL, it
will be a problem. My zwpagelayout was not modified for many years
because it contains everything what I need. Package xetex-devanagari
is very old and unchanged for years but people still use it. Velthuis
Devanagari is even older and no longer developed but still in use.
