    loading PNG images seems to be very slow in TL 2025 / Linux.

Libpng was updated during the year (thanks to Akira), as usual. We
currently have 1.6.54. I wonder if that can be related to the change in
behavior.  pdftex itself certainly didn't change wrt png's. -k
