There is no real change of behavior, just that I try to deal with "funny
scientists" uploading 10000x7000 px images to be includes into their
LaTeX document, and libpng decides it needs to reencode them for PDF due
to (alpha channel|whatever chunk in png) and this takes ... takes ..
ages.

Exmaple: One run without compatible images: 3min30, with compatible
images: 5sec (!)
