 I think maybe splitting fontsextra into two parts, with the Asian fonts in
a separate package might make sense. It=E2=80=99s been a while since I did =
an
analysis but I think after documentation the Asian fonts were the biggest
users of space in TeX live (and they might have also contributed to the
size of the documentation as well).
