I don't have an account to post on the bug tracker, so will post it =

Although on the fly updates of MIKTeX look cool and imply a smaller =
initial footprint, I still prefer the TeX Live way of doing things. =
First, you're always sure (or at least confident) to have everything you =
need at hand even without network access (it still happens not so =
infrequently!). Second, I've seen a number of times students using =
MIKTeX blocked and puzzled that their compilation was hanging simply to =
discover that the confirmation pop-up was silently waiting for input =
hidden behind another window.

Man I feel old posting "don't change a thing" messages, but I always =
very much stood behind the TeX Live way ever since I started using it, =
back when teTeX got deprecated.
