Ok, I've now updated l3backend to the latest version. I think that I
missed the nightly build though, so it'll probably take a day to make it
to CTAN.

Karl: "tlcom" wouldn't commit the l3backend changes (but it did take my
unrelated doc change), so perhaps this is why it got missed? "svn
commit" worked as expected though. Also, there were no new files added
or deleted in any of the packages, yet running a plain "c2lx" did
nothing; I instead had to run "c2lx ... p".
