Bruno, Karl: I'm using Apple's busted webmail so I can't see all the messages, but I'd suggest trying to set PATH in Terminal to the same value TLU uses, and see if that causes update-tlmgr-latest.sh to fail in Terminal. Your last successful update was on July 12 under OS 27 Beta 3? I think this indicates the problem is with a subsequent beta OS version, not TLU or TL, and you should be complaining to Apple and/or not running a beta OS. I'm not going to do anything about this until Apple releases yet another broken OS that I'm forced to work around. TLU uses the disaster recovery script for hysterical reasons as Karl said. IIRC it was originally because of a (rare!) bug in tlmgr. However, it's turned out to be a worthwhile feature in general, since it's pretty resilient in case of tlmgr or PEBKAC breakage that happens occasionally. Adam
