Hi Karl,

Messaging just you since it seems to be a pretty isolated issue. Yes, the
next update (the very next day) was successful, all formats built correctly
(obviously since `l3backend` was integrated into `l3kernel`) even during
the erroneous update.

I really didn't experience any issues (except the error message during the
update), I just reported it because Max Chernoff asked me to do that on the
list because he said it was something you'd have a to take a look at after
I messaged him in the TeX.SX chat room. So nothing really bad happened.
