AFAIK Metapost only outputs EPS or SVG with *unstroked* paths i.e. the actual outlines of the strokes are themselves never output. Only the central path is output and the actual blackened pixels are only ever computered by the final rasterizer. In case of elliptical/rotated pens, appropriate transforms are added to the paths so that the final output *seems* as if it was drawn by such a pen. -- Shriramana Sharma ஶ்ரீரமணஶர்மா श्रीरमणशर्मा 𑀰𑁆𑀭𑀻𑀭𑀫𑀡𑀰𑀭𑁆𑀫𑀸 -- http://tug.org/metapost/
