Well, having looked at the sources I can say I was wrong about this.  I knew Euler had no "meta-ness", but I didn't realize quite how much "no meta-ness" it had, so to speak.  Still, I will leave them in the repository for people who like to read long lists of raw numbers and will use `mfplain.mp' for fontmaking.  I still think it's a good thing for them to be available in CTAN, if only to spare people the trouble of trying to find them.
