Just checked: All changes in my Github project, when applied to the 
MetaPost sources in the TeX Live system, create valid C code that 
compiles fine on K/Ubuntu Linux 24.04 with the GCC 13.3.0 toolchain.

However, for secondary modifications like 'pmp', further adaptations are 
necessary.
