True, there are three lines in
C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\config
that match map files in my local texmf tree.

In C:\Users\Uli\AppData\Roaming\MiKTeX\2.9\miktex\config\updmap.cfg I have
this entry:
Map 0mc.map
Map 0mct.map

The actual map files are located in
E:\projekte\localtexmf\fonts\map
