Unable to view beamer dvis

Hi

I've recently upgraded to MikTeX 2.9 (running on Windows 7 and using WinEdt).  I have not been able to compile beamer files to dvi.  The following "trivial" presentation will compile correctly to pdf but not to dvi.

I do want to be able to compile to dvi (and then to ps and pdf) because I use the MayuraDraw drawing package extensively.  (LaTeX will compile MayuraDraw files directly, without conversion to a particular graphics format; I do not want to have to convert all my .md files to .pdf.)

Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
