Re: a problem with MiKTeX 2.9

Thank you Ulrike for solving my problem and thank you David
for explaining its source. Yes, I had an XP for quite a few
years. I would just like to point out that I used this
"unusual" syntax of dvips for a long time, due to the "liberal"
policy of the older versions of PC. It did not work for XP
with 2.7, which made me go to dvipdfm.

I shall reply separately to David's questions about my
original submission.
