Re: TDS compliant root directory

Dear Ulrike,
  It's very kind of you to respond.  At present 
my style files, etc. are in 

C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.8\tex\latex

and this is precisely the directory that
I have always used in the past, and which leads
to the error "Not a TDS-compliant root directory",
Perhaps I am not understanding your definition
of minimum-texmf-substructure.
