Quick update: I found the file with the line \setbeamersize{text margin left=0.25cm} (it's actually line 43, not 41, but I don't care at this point that I don't understand this aspect). Commenting these lines out caused the same command occurring later to give the same error. I commented those lines, too, and got the same error elsewhere, realizing that the error is actually

		! Undefined control sequence.
		\Gm@rmargin ->\Geom@rmargin

which is completely impenetrable to me.

Subject: [MiKTeX] error following miktex update

What I had feared unfortunately happened: Having being forced to update my installation due to some `obsolete package' error, I now get compilation errors I did not use to. What is worse, I cannot figure out where they come from. In particular, as I am running pdflatex on a file, I get the following as part of the log file (I include something before the actual error). I cannot even tell which file line 41 (I assume this is what l.41 means) is referring to.

My goal is, naturally, to fix these errors. Perhaps intermediate questions are:

1) How do I figure out in which file the offending line occurs? (And why is google desktop not able to find it...)

2) What is actually wrong here? I have the same command in another style file I use, and that does not give rise to a problem. (Maybe that's the issue?

My guess is that I did not include all in the .log file that may be helpful, but I would rather do that in response to specific instructions (I can even attach the whole file), rather than drown you in useless text.

Thanks a lot for any ideas you may have.

Nicolae
