Beamer Issue

Hello, I have a professor here in my department who just installed Miktex 2.9 on Windows 7 and is having problems with Beamer. When he builds his presentation, the slides appear off center causing most of the slide to appear cut off. As a test when we took his beamer.sty file (dated 2007) from his old laptop and replaced the beamer.sty (dated 2010) file on his new computer, his presentation built just fine. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Thank you!
