I am having trouble simply creating a personal dictionary for use with TeXworks. I've read numerous posts online indicating that you should be able to create a *.dic file in some subdirectory such as AppData\Local\MikTex\2.9\TeXworks\0.4\dictionaries or AppData\Roaming\MikTex\2.9\hunspell\dicts, but no matter what permutation of those paths I use I can't seem to get TeXworks to recognize it. I've also set the TW_DICPATH environment variable to no avail. If I manually add words to the end of the en_US dictionary in C:\Program Files\MikTex\hunspell\dicts, they get picked up just fine. But obviously editing that dictionary isn't a good long-term solution, since it's likely to get clobbered during upgrades.
