Do not forget that you can upgrade it yourself. TeX is a gnu package, which implies that the user is somewhat more responsible for their own maintenance. You can always 1) set up a localtree 2) find the package at CTAN 3) install it in the localtree 4) run the FNDB update 5) you are good to go. The main issue with this is that you must occasionally remove packages from the localtree if the main tree is more up to date. I have had that problem occasionally. -----Original Message----- From: José Carlos Santos [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, October 05, 2012 9:38 AM To: A place for MiKTeX users to discuss MiKTeX related questions. Subject: [MiKTeX] Upgrading the mathdesign packages Hi all, Today, I updated my MiKTeX packages and, after that, I become unable to compile files which use the mathdesign package. There are two *.fd (font definition) files missing from the latest distribution. The author of the package (Paul Pichaureau) has already submitted to CTAN a corrected version. So, if you use the mathdesign packages, my suggestion is that you *don't* upgrade it right now.
