confproc and MikTex 2.9

I try to compile the examples of the ConfProc package http://miktex.org/packages/confproc, but running into problems. I am using WinEdt 7.0 and MikTex 2.9. Running PdfLaTex: ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [parameter stack size=10000]. Running LaTex: ! Package hyperref Error: Wrong driver option `pdftex', (hyperref) because pdfTeX in PDF mode is not detected. Should I use LaTex or PdfLaTex?
