Hi,

I had some problems updating or installing packages in miktex 2.9.
There were always errors like

The operation could not be completed because the following
   file failed verification

Even a fresh installation with the network installer didn't work.

After some investigations it turned out, that this happens due to
some MD5-Sum mismatches between the distribution files and the miktex
database.
The CabMD5-Information of some of the package files
inside miktex-zzdb1-2.9.tar.lzma do not fit to the md5sums of the files.
I downloaded all packages and wrote a script to correct the
CabMD5-values. After that, update or install from the local directory
worked!
(which didn't work before)

So, perhaps the zzdb1-file on the ftp-mirrors is older or failed to
create for the current package list?

The best solution would be to correct the
content in miktex-zzdb1-2.9.tar.lzma

best regards,

Robert
