Dear colleagues, Yesterday I did my weekly upgrade of MiKTeX 2.9 (under Windows 7) on two computers one after another. I was forced to remove etex (I wanted to uncheck the removal of etex on the second one but was not allowed to do so). As always, after the update I launched "Settings (Admin)" and was required to install miktex-etex-base-2,9 "on the fly", in order to be able to update formats. But this last package is not duly recognized by the whole MiKTeX system. Clicking on "Packages" tab creates "MiKTeX Problem Report" that miktex-etex-base-2,9 is an unknown package. And repeated launch of MiKTeX update copystart_admin.exe tells that just this package must be repaired. I launched the "repair", copystart_admin.exe seemingly did its job, but after that nothing was really changed.
