I use ghostscript and gsview, which allow you to repeatedly compile while leaving the rendering tool open.

Subject: [MiKTeX] Acrobat

This problem has been raised before, but the solutions I have seen posted don't work for me. I run pdflatex on a file and acrobat pops up.
  If I run pdflatex a second time without having first closed acrobat, winedt opens Acrobat CloseDoc.edt and points to the line

  ddeopen('%$("acroread")',"AcroRd32","control");

What's the problem? It's annoying to have to close acrobat every time I run pdflatex. ...................Edgar
