Log Not found after package managing

I installed a few packages (CJK and cjk-fonts), and did Repository 
synchronizing.  In the meantime I updated Texmaker to 4.0.3. Somehow I 
could not process .tex file any more, not even simple examples like one 
below. It turned out "Log File not found".  I tried on those files that 
I processed before the package update.  It seemed to to go on with 
processing, but didn't generate .dvi files, and didn't turn out Log File 
not found.  When those files that worked before were copied to a 
directory different from where their the original .log files were 
located, it again told me "Log File not found!"    (MikTeX failed to 
work after installation of the packages before Texmaker was updated.  I 
tend to think it had nothing to do with updating Texmaker, but I was not 
certain.)   Any help would be greatly appreciated!
