Miktex 2.9 problems with package management and update.

Hi,

Since 2.8 seems no longer to be supported I installed 2.9 on windows 7 
pro 32 bit, basic package, for all users.

If I try to run the update wizard it just says windows will close the 
program, after choosing remote package repo and next.

Trying to run it from the package manager I get:
The update helper could not be found.

Clues?
