WinEdt/Windows 7/localtexmf

Thank you again to Aradenatorix Veckhom Vacelaevus. I now have my tex file on its own in a folder so that I can add more when asked to edit them. I have the sty, cls, bib etc. and other oddments in various folders within the folder C\Localtexmf that I set up. I followed the instructions for this and for the directory structure and for registering my user-managed directory from the Miktex 2.9 User Guide. I have just tested and my Texify and pdfTexify went fine. I also, although probably not needed, pressed Refesh FNDB and Update Formats. I note that some is asking about WinEdt and Windows 7. I think I have installed the basic as I am on fibre to premises so have a fast connection with Zen, who so far have been very reliable. I use WinEdt because I used to work at the Open University and tha
 t is their system and so I am familiar with it.
Re the use of SyncTex, I found that it works without the Crtl key, just double click on the left button. But I am still set to SumatraPDF but will change back to Acrobat some time and retest.
I should like to help John Macallister but am not expert enough. I think there are some experts on the list who use WinEdt/Miktex who are better able to help him.
