C\Localtexmf that I set up. I followed the instructions for this and
for the directory structure and for registering my user-managed
directory from the Miktex 2.9 User Guide.

You're welcome and is nice to know all it's ok with your custom
folder, but please try to use withelines for separate paragrahs, it's
easier to read you in that way instead a bunch of large lines.

In the other hand, what do you mean with oddments?

When you say texify and pdftexify do you mean to compile with latex
and pdflatex or what is that exactly?

What do you mean with some? Could you explain it better?

It's OK, if it works fine for you I have no porblems.

It can be true, I don't know, but I never use LaTeX with (Acrobat)
Reader because it don't refresh and automatically updates changes each
time you compile with SumatraPDF, Foxit Reader and others. Instead, it
generates an error because the compiler (pdflatex) is unable to modify
the pdf file if it is open with Reader. My favourite is evince, it can
be very basic but is multiplatform and works fine.
