It would have been much more considerate if you had added a minimal
example.

Anyway: it is not a miktex problem but a side effect of the new
latex format, it has moved the some code from fixltx2e to the
kernel. 

Even in older tex systems preview breaks if fixltx2e is loaded. 

The only one who can correct this is the author of preview, so you
should contact him.
