Hi all, after I have sent Joseph my LOG file he said that my format LaTeX2e <2015/01/01> which is found in one of the first lines in the LOG, is outdated. After updating the formats as user now I find the format LaTeX2e <2015/10/01> patch level 1 and MWE can be TeXed without any problems. Most probably something went wrong in the MiKTeX update process. On my backup PC updating as admin only directly worked fine.
