Hello to all I had also a lot of trouble with Latex. I decided to install MiKTeX from the beginning. I.e. I removed the old release and install a new one.First it didn't work since I used the 32-bit relase and Instead I have a 64-bit Toshiba. Then I went on the 64 bit release and it didn't work just the same. It was impossible to compile anything and also to do the update. But after sometime the latest release started to work, but not perfectly because during the compilation the compiler asked to install many macros. Untill to day the MiKTeX update program didn't work but now it works. First it obliged me to update the 64-bit release, after I did it it allowed to install all the updates and now the Latex compiler works quite well. I suspect that the MiKTeX administrators didn't work on the program for sometime. Now probably they fixed some bugs. So I decided also to give 10euros donation to them.
