Re: Fix PDF font in Windows 10 (TeXworks)

Drat, I spoke too soon.  I can't get this to "stick" for the Standard User Account.  I've changed it in the Admin Account (and it looks fine when I run from that Account), but Standard still looks crummy.  If I "Run as Admin" from Standard, it looks fine (again), but when I close and restart in Standard, back to crummy.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (clean install, new PC).  I had a few problems installing MiKTeX (the Standard User vs Admin issue), but I've figured that out.

I use TeXworks as my default TeX editor, and noticed when I got a PDF Preview, the rather pleasant font to which I was accustomed "looked ugly".  I compared the appearance between Windows 7 and Windows 10, and it definitely was not as easy to read, and looked very "unprofessional".

The problem appears to be that TeXworks uses as a default font "MS Shell Dlg 2", which is a pseudo-font Microsoft invented that seems to substitute for other fonts.  The "fix" is to substitute Tahoma in the Font options on the Editor/Preferences and Format menus.  If (as I am) you are running as a Standard User, you'll need to do this as an Administrator for it to work (I did it by logging in to my Admin account, but you can probably also do it by doing a Run As Administrator when you start TeXworks).
