I saw a similar error message on tex.sx and had a discussion about
it in the chat, but nothing definitive was found. 

He also made a bug report but the error couldn't be reproduced:

Like you this user had a non-ascii chars in the user name, so it is
possible that this leads to the failure of fc-cache to write the
cache.
