Installation failure

MikTex basic installation fails and I have not much idea about the reason.

Running basic-miktex-2.9.5987.exe on Windows 7:

Installation is interrupted, the log window shows:

Registering root directories... Removing fndb (C:\ProgramData\MiKTeX\2.9)...  Sorry, but "MiKTeX Configuration Utility" did not succeed. Sorry, but "MiKTeX Configuration Utility" did not succeed.

What should I do next? (I have installed MikTex earlier on different computer without any problems)
