Issue with cropping pdfs using latest graphics package

Dear all,
updating the "graphics" package from 1.0r / 15-May-16 to 1.0r / 
21-Jun-16, the following example doesn't yield a properly cropped pdf 
(LaTeX -> PS -> PDF):
