I had this idea too, but when I worked on Fabrice's script, lines in the output files were sorted alphabetically. Not a good premise for adding comments. When I adapted the Perl script I tried to avoid drastic changes. The most important thing at this time was to make sure that the Perl script provides the same output as Thomas' shell script. But I like Norbert's approach.
