compiling pdftex in Delphi

Hello pdftex followers,

I want to try and compile pdfTex with Delphi or GNU Pascal,  ( Delphi is 
an object Pascal) and before trying to compile pdfTex with a pascal 
compiler, I'd like to understand if this is possible.

Can someone tell me if pdfTex uses some libraries written in C language?
