I am sorry to say that transition processing is not generic, because
the different styles do not have a common argument structure.
This means that extensions to transitions need to be implemented also
in PPower4.
Unfortunately as already written this will not happen very fast,
not to mention that I do not have access to the specifications of
these transition types.
