Since the documentation directory is now under texmf-dist, $TEXMFMAIN should be replaced by $TEXMFDIST in texdoctk, line 1478. This avoids some warning messages. BTW., it's better to search in $TEXMF rather than in $TEXMFLOCAL if a file is not found in $TEXMFDIST. This is more general and allows people to have more local directories than just $TEXMFLOCAL. The method used by latex to find .tex or .sty files is quite good: $TEXMF/tex/latex:$TEXMF/tex/generic:$TEXMF/tex So, why shouldn't texdoctk search in $TEXMFDIST:$TEXMF (or even in $TEXMF only)?
