building 2.99.3 release, xdvik on Sun 5.8 and gcc33

Hi there,

just tried to build 2.99.3  on my Sun with solaris 5.8 and gcc 3.3

with:

  sh -c './configure  --prefix=/usr/devries/local/packages/${MYDISTNAME}
--exec-prefix=/usr/devries/local/packages/${MYDISTNAME}
--disable-multiplatform >configure.log 2>&1' &

sh -c 'make world >world.log 2>&1' &

(full logs attached)

unfortunately, the resulting xdvi

says

xdvi-motif.bin: Warning: This version has been compiled without XPM
support. Disabling the toolbar, which needs XPM.
xdvi: Compiled without XPM support; no toolbar available.

probably just a configuration error of myself...

More seriously however, it shows only a black window, with a few
redlines in it...


Any advice?
