O. K. Let me explain. I use Debian stable on my server. Some call
that also Debian rusty :-) It is sometimes not very actual and
changes in your sources may travel a long time before they appear in a
debian package. I didn't investigate in that.
I only noticed, that cmbright, which I used in a old TeX file long
ago, was missing and the file didn't compile.
I found via google (debian tetex cmbright) a link, which told me, that
cmbright was removed from the debian packages because of the lppl,
which was considered nonfree. There was a intensive discussion about
the lppl and why Debian considers it nonfree.
Than (last week) i visited the next CTAN node and downloaded cmbright,
which still is copyrighted under the terms of the lppl. So I was
mislead to think, that cmbright is still nonfree in terms of Debian
and installed it in the local tree of my system.
Maybe I should install a newer version of teTeX from the testing or
unstable branch?!
If I confused somebody here, I would like to apologise for it.
