Ah, that's good news.  Too bad that my patches for cross compiling and
for Cygwin are not included.  Anyway, I have forward ported, tested,
and prepared a new set.  Find attached.

One thing to note: libtool is still very much in development.  The
libtool-1.4 version used in tetex-beta-20030228 is too old for Cygwin,
but to use a newer version from CVS, a newer version of autoconf is
also needed.  I looked into this, but upgrading autoconf seems to be
quite a bit of work.  I think it's better to get the current patches
in first, before accumulating additional work.

To compile tetex-beta for Cygwin, I injected a pre-configured
libtool.sh script into the build process after configuring.

Btw: what surprises me is that, only pending an OK from Fabrice, was
     there any reason not to include the patches when opening the
     development branch?
