Problems with curren teTeX

I installed 3.0 teTeX, and for the first time in years, I am having
trouble. Documents appear fine with xdvi, no errors from TeX
or LaTeX, but when I print them (LJ4000, proRes mode), the first line
of text starts about mid-page, and the printer flashes a light with
the message "Unexpected Paper Size".

I had mistakenly used the texconfig utility as root, as I have for
years, and then looking over the list messages, I discovered
texconfig-sys. I have set both texconfig and texconfig-sys to the same
settings for the paper size and printing, basically the same things I
have used for quite a long time, and yet it doesn't seem to work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
