[RH9, teTeX-2.0.2] no xdvi after 'make world'

Hello all,

I'm using RedHat 9, kernel 2.4.20-30.9 with Gnome. I
have downloaded the sources of teTeX-2.0.2 from CTAN.

I use the 'INSTALL' file to follow the directions:

1. I make the directory /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf

and unpack all texmf stuff there.

2. Unpack sources, run ./configure. It says:

checking for X... no

in the log file. I don't understand this: I have X
running (4.3.0)

3. 'make world' works fine

4. I look in /usr/local/teTeX/bin, issue ls|wc -l and
it says '137'. INSTALL says it should be 145.

xdvi is not there. I have downloaded xdvi as well. I
tried to build but it says:

checking for X... no
configure: error: this program cannot be compiled
without X

Issuing './configure --x-top=/usr/X11R6' results in:

checking for X... configure: error: /usr/X11R6 does
not point to a valid X install tree

Am I doing something wrong????

TIA,
Wilfred
