Hello Thomas, others,

I hereby offer a sincere appology for being stupid.

When I installed the PC, I didn't select the option
'install X development tools'. The description reads:
'Select this if you are going to develop applications
for X'. I thought simply compiling a program would not
be rated as 'developing applications for X', (d'OH!)
but it turns out that I needed that. I installed the
'X-development' stuff, re-configured, re-made and
everyhting is fine.

Thomas, keep up the good work, I really like the teTeX
distribution.

Byebye,
Wilfred
