Installing new files into texmf-local tree.

Hi all,
I am experiencing some problems installing a new class
in tetex.
I want to install: curve.cls. I downloaded the
necessary files from CTAN. The files curve.ins and
curve.dtx processed okay.
Everything installed into:
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf-local
I fire up texconfig, config says:
=========================== Kpathsea variables
===========================
TEXMF={/home/rooijen/texmf,!!/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf-local,
!!/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf}
Then I issue 'rehash' to rebuild ls-R database. I do
this as root because as normal user I don't have the
right permissions. mktexlsr says:
mktexlsr: Updating
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf-local/ls-R...
mktexlsr: Updating
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/ls-R...
mktexlsr: Done.
A snippet from texmf-local:
% ls-R -- filename database for kpathsea; do not
change this line.
./:
.:
curve
ls-R
./curve:
curve.aux
curve.cls
curve.dtx
curve.dvi
curve.ins
curve.log
./lsR7057.tmp:
However, when I process a file starting with
\documentclass{curve} I still get an error: curve.cls
not found. I don't understand! I have tried doing
everything as a normal user, I have changed the file
permissions, the user and group id's, I've installed
into /home/rooijen/texmf and rehashed, and I keep
getting these 'curve.cls not found'. Am I forgetting
something?
System: RedHat 9, I compiled teTeX (latest version)
myself, and everthing when I use a default class file,
like book or report.
Regards,
Wilfred
