Oh, I certainly agree.  But the OP seemed desperate, and my suggestion
is a workaround for people who have painted themselves into a corner.
It should probably be supplementet with a big, fat warning message, so
annoying that the users will feel pressured to change their source
files in order to avoid the hack.  But the hack will buy them time to
do so (if it can be made to work).
