TeTeX 3.0 and DVI forward search

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but... 
 
I would like to know whether TeTeX 3.0 did introduce some change in DVI files 
related to Forward Search. 
 
I'm interested in that because upgrading to TeTeX 3.0 breaks the Forward Search 
feature in KDE (using Kile and KDVI). Initially we thought it was due to an 
upgrade to KDE 3.4, but it has turned out that it had nothing to do with that, 
and was due to upgrading to TeTeX 3.0. See this bug report :

Can you give me more information about what changed in TeTeX 3.0, so I can try 
to tweak KDVI to work with DVI files generated by TeTeX 3.0 ?
