possible amsmath.sty bug

Hello all,

an interesting bug was found by Bastien Nocera related to bad output of
\vec{text}, what is dependent on context. Consider the following source:

\documentclass[12pt]{book}
\usepackage{amssymb,amsfonts,bbm}
\usepackage{amstext}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\begin{document}

$\hat{a}\tilde{a}\check{a}\bar{a}\breve{a}\vec{a}\acute{a}\dot{a}\grave{a}\ddot{a}$

$\rm\hat{a}\tilde{a}\check{a}\bar{a}\breve{a}\vec{a}\acute{a}\dot{a}\grave{a}\ddot{a}$

$\hat{\rm a}\tilde{\rm a}\check{\rm a}\bar{\rm a}\breve{\rm a}\vec{\rm a}\acute{\rm a}\dot{\rm a}\grave{\rm a}\ddot{\rm a}$

\end{document}

Then, after passing through latex it shows letter "a" with tilde in the
middle row what should be "a" with vector sign. We get a correct output
when we don't use amsmath.

Any ideas?
